Given my Floridious druthers, I prefer to be on the islands. Failing that, I'll settle for piers. And if you can get a pier that's on an island, well, Bob's Your Uncle. Pier 60, just over the puddle from Clearwater on Clearwater Beach, is a great spot to get some shade when you've had a little too much sunshine on your state. And it's surrounded with fine restaurants and plenty of activities like The Calypso Queen tour boat.
